چکیده

Based on the characteristics of the thresholds of two detection schemes employing locally optimum test statistics, a sequential detection design procedure is proposed and analyzed. The proposed sequential test, called the sequential locally optimum test (SLOT), inherently provides finite stopping time (terminates with probability one within the finite horizon), and thereby avoids undesirable forced termination. The performance of the SLOT is compared with that of the fixed sample-size test, sequential probability ratio test (SPRT), truncated SPRT, and 2-SPRT. It is observed that the SLOT requires smaller average sample numbers than other schemes at most values of the normalized signal amplitude while maintaining the error performance close to the SPRT. key words: asymptotic sample number, locally optimum detector, minimum false-alarm, sequential test, sequential probability ratio test

Sequential Detection of Signals with Locally Optimum Test Statistic

Based on local optimality, a novel sequential detection scheme is proposed in this paper. The performance of the proposed scheme is compared with that of the sequential probability ratio test (SPRT) and truncated SPRT (TSPRT). The proposed scheme is shown to have higher efficiency, lower complexity, and smaller computational requirements than the SPRT at the cost of partially lower detectabilit...

Ds/ss Code Acquisition with a Joint Detection Based on Locally Optimum Test Statistics

In this paper, using the locally optimum (LO) test statistic, a joint decision rule of two correct cells is derived for nonselective Rayleigh fading channels. Then, we propose a new acquisition scheme based on the joint decision rule. The mean acquisition time performance of the proposed acquisition scheme is analyzed and compared with that of a conventional acquisition scheme in which only one...

Locally optimum rank detection of correlated random signals in additive noise

Nonparametric detection of a zero-mean random signal in additive noise is considered. The locally optimum detector based on signs and ranks of observations is derived, for good weak-signal detection performance under any specified noise probability density function. This detector is shown to have interesting similarities to the locally optimum detector for random signals. It may also be viewed ...

Locally Optimum User Detection in Nakagami Interference

AbstmctDetection of the existence of a desired user is considered in this paper. We assume that the signal to noise ratio is high enough to ignore the effects of noise compared with those of the interference by other users. The inter-user interference and user signals are modeled by the Nakagami model. The observation model for this situation is proposed, the locally optimum test statistic is d...
